I'm Safe
For those who may have heard we had a tornado today. It came within 5 miles of my place but as far as I know things are fine there. I'm writing this from work, nearly an hour's drive away so I'm going to be nervious until I get home but my cousin, who works up the street from where I live, says it was okay.

I'll update this when I hear more.

Eep. Hope everything's okay at the homestead.

Me too, I don't want to go through anything like Francis again.

Holy Crap!

Gimme a once-every-five-hundred-years earthquake zone any day!

I have a fear of tornados but I'm not sure how I'd deal with an earthquake.

Diving for the nearest doorway positioned away from bookshelves and kitchen cupboards.

Since major earthquakes occur so infrequently (Seattle took the brunt of the last Biggish One), unlike an annual tornado season, we don't worry about them overly much.

I have NO doorway that is not next to bookshelves or cupboards. I'd have to go stand in the shower I think.

The bathroom doorway is my hunkering-down spot of choice.

You don't want a fully loaded six-foot-tall bookshelf dumping over on top of you.
