Kind of a mixed bag today.

Title: Beware the Silver Fox
Author: Amarielah
Fandom: Inuyasha/YuYu Hakushu
Rating: T
Summary: What would happen if Kagome actually did meet Youko Kurama? Warning: Not particularly happy, and very much lacking in romance.[Crossover with YYH]

If you are as tired of the lame IY/YYH crossovers that have been flooding the fanfic sites as I am then this is the perfect antidote. Somebody actually remembered that Youko Kurama had a reputation as a ruthless thief for most of his adult life. Even now, after having lived the last 15 or so years as a human with a sweet and gentle perona he isn't very nice when he takes on his true form. This is the kitsune we saw fighting in the Dark Tournament.

Title: Robin's Song
Author: Dannell Lites
Fandom: Batman
Rating: K+
Summary: Nightwing remembers when he discovered some hard truths about his guardian and partner The Batman

Absolutely note perfect. In this first person vignette Dick Grayson thinks back on his life with Batman, and Bruce Wayne. The author has an excellent grasp of characterization and knowledge of canon and uses them to focus on facets of both characters that don't really get enough attention.

I love the opening:

Bruce is odd.

Clark says that Bruce is one of the only people he knows who frighten him. Coming from Superman who counts among his enemies people like Lex Luthor and Brainiac that's pretty impressive. But, then, Clark is really just a Kansas farmboy at heart. He may have been conceived on Krypton, but he was raised in Smallville, Kansas by two of the nicest people you'd ever want to meet. The Kents are amazing. Bruce ...

Bruce doesn't come from Smallville.
