Doctor Who

Whew! I just finished my second viewing this week of the end of the first season of the new Doctor Who and I gotta say that it's one of the better regeneration episodes. The two parter has something that will make it one for the fan history books.

Other than reading the very excellent analysis at Television Without Pity, from which I stole my sig quote over there to the left, I haven't heard much about the fan reaction to this. I'm thinking the people who freaked when McGann got to kiss the girl in the one shot TV movie are having fantods over Captain Jack's little goodbye kiss. After all the flirting in the last couple of episodes it was a nice touch. I'm sure the slash writers have gone nuts over this.

Getting to see Jack naked except for carefully placed foreground objects was a nice treat too. I'm really, really, looking forward to Torchwood, the Captain Jack spin off.

Oh, if you saw the scene where the robots dissolve Jack's clothes on international TV and he smirks and says, after looking down, "Your ratings just went up" you'd want to watch all of his episodes and the spin off. He's only the second Companion to get a spin off series.

I've been a Doctor Who fan since around 1980. I'm loving the use of Time Lords in Facets.
