Samurai Wars

Sillof's Workshop has created action figures based on the idea that in 1955  Akira Kurosawa attempted to film an epic movie about a small band fighting against a dark lord in feudal Japan.

It's really interesting how little the character designs have to be changed. I particularly love Obu Wankabe (Played by Toshiro Mifune of course)

Sweet!! I like Kurosawa films, sadly have only seen a couple. But Shichinin no samurai is my all time fave! :D

I love that one too.

I've seen it, Rashomon, The Hidden Fortress, Red Beard, Derzu Uzala, Ran, and Madadayo. Shichinin no Samurai and Madadayo are my favorites. I really expected not to like Ran because I hate King Lear but he made some fundamental changes to the story that made me really like it.

Nice! How I miss Samurai Saturdays...*cries* I've seen Rashamon. I wish they would air them again, saw a lot of great movies & who cared if they were subbed.

That's good!

Saving this to show the spawn! Leia with the 'panda ears' hairdo is great!

I thought she looked a little scary.

Considering the connotations of white in Japanese cultural parlance, she is kinda scary. She did look a tad psycho.

Han Solo's topknot is a HOOT!

Yes! I would have loved to have seen that in the original.
