Title: 11 Facts About Don Blake
Summary: Series of drabbles about Don, set in Classic-verse.
You're going to have to be at least somewhat familiar with the Marvel universe in general and Thor's history in particular from the time before a retcon every few years became SOP (or should that be FUBAR?) to follow most of this. If you are then this drabble collection contains some really great insights into the character and some really fun in-jokes. There are a few references to the author's other works but you don't need to have read them to follow this.
Frankly, at least 90% of the reason I read Marvel and DC fanfic is to be able to enjoy the characters as they used to be before I gave up on them in disgust after one too many instances of the publisher deciding that what a favorite series needed was a "new and fresh" direction, continuity be damned, and decided my money would be better spent on manga. It's stuff like this that keeps me scouring the archives. The author has updated the character's history so that he is just starting out in the modern day without sacrificing anything that made me fall in love with him when I was a regular reader in the '70s and early '80s.

Title: Hurricanes and Sisters
Author: Fire Tears
Summary: Both are impressive forces of nature. Sharon knows more than she's supposed to, less than she should, and can't seem to find a happy medium. [VirgilRichie]
First off, I have to state that I DO NOT support this pairing because there is just too much evidence against it even being possible in canon. That doesn't keep me from enjoying this story at all because, despite the crackish AUness of it, the author totally nails Sharon's character. IF this were possible in canon, THIS IS what would happen. Plus, it's very, very, funny.
Sharon doesn't get a lot of love in the fanfics I've seen and she really is a great character.
I think that even without a lot of familiarity with the characters this has elements that anyone could enjoy but having seen at least one episode would increase your enjoyment immeasurably.
