Fanfic Recs
With the mix I've got today here HAS to be something here for you.

Series: Myth Adventures
Title A Myth's End
Author: Kagedtiger
Rating: K+
Summary: WARNING: Character Death. Aahz talks to Skeeve on the Klahd's deathbed. Short, wistful little vignette.
Link: http://www.fanfiction.net/s/1799277/1/A_Myths_End

Reason to read:
A really well done take on the inevitable ending to their partnership given that Skeeve is mortal and Aahz is not. Even though it's a death!fic it's more warm than dark. If you have to ask who Aahz and Skeeve are then move on to the next recommendation.

Series: Dukes of Hazard/Buffy the Vampire Slayer
Title: Slayer Duke
Author: Maeve Bran
Rating: T
Summary: After Nikki Wood, a new slayer was called.
Link: http://www.fanfiction.net/s/4570775/1/Slayer_Duke

Reason to read:
Daisy Duke as a Slayer! You know she could totally do it. It's a short short so the author doesn't have time to mess it up but I wouldn't have minded more. If you aren't familiar with both shows enjoy the cave you've been living in for the last 30 years but you won't get this.

Series: Doctor Who
Title: Rent Arrears
Author: Nelclaret
Rating: K+
Summary: The Doctor repays an old debt. To paraphrase Cat Stevens...Remember the Doors of the Old Junkyard...?
Link: http://www.fanfiction.net/s/4571027/1/Rent_Arrears

Reason to read:
Great use of a moment in the very first story of the very first season as a springboard to a touching story. Unfortunately, if you don't know anything about the First Doctor you won't get it. If you have read An Unearthly Child then this is wonderful.

Series: The Andy Griffith Show
Title: Faith, Hope, and Cherishing
Author: EmmyPeters
Rating: K+
Summary: A missed camping trip serves as the basis for strengthened relationships between Opie, Andy and Helen.
Link: http://www.fanfiction.net/s/2429674/1/Faith_Hope_and_Cherishing

Reason to read:
It captures the feel of the series perfectly only with more kissing. Plus, there are some touching moments between Opie and Helen that really make you feel for both characters. Another one you won't get if your neighbor Ug wants you to help him paint a mastodon in his living room.

More coming soon.

I've just started looking for Doctor Who fanfic, specifically stuff involving Doctor 10 and Donna Noble, who is my very favouritest Companion, surpassing even my former favourite, Leela. It seems I like the feisty ones. ;-) I was so upset at the end of the last season that I want more Donna! There are a lot of one-shots out there dealing with the whole "she'll burn up if she remembers" issue -- some where she does burn, and some where she doesn't. And there are many "before Journey's End" stories as well.

I haven't gotten that far with the new series so I've been actively avoiding the stuff that says "Journey's End spoilers". Not because I mind being spoiled but because I figure I won't enjoy the story if I haven't seen it. If Donna is better than Leela then I have a lot to look forward to.

I have to say it's been a long time since I saw any Leela episodes, but I remember back in the day, Tom Baker was my introduction to the Doctor, and Leela was my first companion. I guess you always remember your first. ;-) I liked how she was always ready to solve problems with a spear. ;-P

See, it's been so long I don't know what that is. ;-) I just remember appreciating her feral style.

Argh! I keep forgetting to tell you how much I enjoyed that 'Hikaru no Go' O-ban fic that you rec'd a while ago; read it in one sitting on a Friday night. Fabulously complicated and riveting plot, top-notch characterizations, terrific OCs (loved the antagonistic kitsune who turned out to be an ally, who kept calling Hikaru 'kitling', 'onigiri', 'cutlet', etc.) not to mention incredibly well-written.

I loved him too! He was such a great character. He really personified all the kitsune traits.

I just realized that I forgot to leave her a comment. Oops. Going to correct that.

Sling me a link to the fic again, please? I think I forgot to leave a review, too, and there's someone I'd like to rec it to as well.
